HART COUNTY, Ga. — A Sunday afternoon collision claimed the life of a Hartwell man in a three-vehicle crash involving his motorcycle, authorities reported.

The fatal incident occurred around 1:22 p.m. on March 22 at the intersection of Reed Creek Highway and Boat Road, north of Hartwell. Hart County Sheriff’s deputies, EMS, and fire personnel rushed to the scene.

Preliminary investigation details indicate the motorcycle was traveling on Reed Creek Highway toward Hartwell when it struck two other vehicles. The impact forced the motorcycle to come to rest on the highway’s left shoulder. The rider, identified as 31-year-old Ryan McKenzie Craft of Hartwell, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Georgia State Patrol is assisting the Hart County Sheriff’s Office with the ongoing investigation. The Hart County Coroner’s Office also responded. Authorities have not released further information regarding the circumstances leading to the collision or the conditions of the other drivers involved, stating the investigation remains active.

The community mourns the loss of Mr. Craft as officials work to determine the exact cause of the tragic crash.
